Laryea Kingston missing for St Mirren visitFeb 20 2009 Craig Swan Spl Latest... HEARTS midfielder Laryea Kingston will miss the SPL clash with St Mirren at Tynecastle tomorrow. The Ghanaian ace, who had treatment in his homeland for a troublesome hamstring injury, is back at Riccarton but boss Csaba Laszlo says he will not feature against Gus MacPherson's side. Laszlo said: "We let Kingston go to Ghana for treatment as he wanted to see some doctors there. He won't play against St Mirren." Despite having been back to his homeland recently, the little midfielder faces the axe from his national team's World Cup squad amid concerns about his attitude and lifestyle. The 28-year-old, has been a key part of the Black Stars' side but coach Milovan Rajevac has grown increasingly frustrated by Kingston's lacklustre form - and his display in the 2-2 friendly draw with Egypt last week was the final straw for the Serb. The Jambos ace now looks set to miss out when Ghana begin their World Cup qualifying campaign against Benin next month. But his increased presence at Tynecastle will boost manager Csaba Laszlo's hopes of holding on to third place in the SPL. A Ghanaian FA source said: "Milovan is not happy with Laryea's recent performances - or his lifestyle off the pitch so they are having second thoughts about him. "He has done little to convince them of his fitness levels and they don't want to take any risks by playing him. "His work rate is very low and that causes problems to the defence who have to work extra hard to cover for him." Taken from the Daily Record |
