Hearts face goalkeeping dilemma as Balogh shakes off virus Ian Orr HEARTS boss Csaba Laszlo admits he has been left with a goalkeeping headache ahead of this weekend's clash with Motherwell Jamie MacDonald started his second game of the season in the 2-1 win over Rangers after regular No.1 Janos Balogh was hit by a virus. Hungarian Balogh is expected to return to training later this week while Marian Kello, who had been a regular starter before suffering a head knock in October's 1-1 draw with Hibs, is also vying for a place in the side. Laszlo said: "We will wait and see how Balogh is but we hope he can be back training this week. "It's too early to say who will play on Saturday. We have three good keepers. Kello had been in goal before he was injured and then we had Balogh. He had his chance and had been playing recently until last weekend. "That gave MacDonald a chance so we will decide nearer to the game against Motherwell who will be in goal." Defender Lee Wallace will return to the side for the trip to SPL leaders Celtic next weekend after being banned for the Motherwell match following his red card on Saturday. Meanwhile Hearts defender Robbie Neilson insists the Tynecastle outfit should set their sights on splitting the Old Firm after cutting the gap on second placed Rangers to seven points. He said: "Everyone's always saying why not get third place but why not aim for second? "We've proven we can match them and hopefully we can keep the run going." Taken from the Daily Record |
