Laszlo pleased striker finds target at last

CSABA Laszlo was quietly satisfied after seeing his Hearts side win 1-0 at home to Hamilton Accies last night. After seeing their team take a sixth-minute lead, many of the Hearts supporters became frustrated as the game wore on without a second goal, but Laszlo, while far from jubilant about the way in which his side had played, was pleased enough with the outcome.
"I'm satisfied with the result," he said. "Maybe the performance was not the best, but the most important thing was the three points. We've won the last two games 1-0 now. If you win every game 1-0, you can be a champion."

The goal was scored by Christian Nade – his first since a league match against Aberdeen last season. The Frenchman is not the only Hearts striker who has found it tough to get on the scoresheet recently, and Laszlo was relieved he had broken his duck.

"I know (the match] was not a big football celebration, but we have one big celebration point – a striker scored," he said. "We have had some problems with finishing."

Laszlo praised the adventurous way in which Hamilton played. "The opposition tried their best," he added. "They didn't play like a team at the bottom of the league. They were very open."

Indeed, while Hearts created more chances, got the only goal, and had the most impressive player on the pitch in Nade, Hamilton played almost as much football. Some of their supporters thought the goal arose from an offside position, and believed their team should have been given a penalty when Marius Zaliukas clumsily made contact with James McCarthy while ushering the ball over the byline.

Accies manager Billy Reid, however, dismissed the suggestion of offside and declined to complain about the latter incident. "You said that," he replied when it was suggested to him his team should have had a spot-kick. "And, at first, I thought the goal was offside, but I saw it on the monitor and it wasn't.

"Things are not going for us at the moment. The boys are down a wee bit, but we've got to take heart from our second-half performance."
