Dundee United continued their revival with a convincing win over Hearts after an enthralling game at Tannadice.Jon Daly sent a header against the post, while Hearts keeper Marian Kello denied Sean Dillon and Scott Roberton. But winger Conway fired home from 30 yards after 39 minutes and Morgaro Gomis cracked an effort off the bar. Daly fired home after 50 minutes and Robertson headed the third 11 minutes later before Hearts' Eggert Jonsson was sent off for a second booking. Hearts, who had started the day in third in the Scottish Premier League, had their moments, but it was the side who were seven places below them who thoroughly deserved their third win in a row. Daly, who had missed United's midweek Co-operative Insurance Cup victory after his wife gave birth, almost made a whirlwind start on his return to the side. The striker met a Conway cross, but his header came off the post. Willo Flood had also returned to the side as David Goodwillie and David Robertson dropped out despite playing prominent parts in the 2-0 win over Airdrie United. Hearts were unchanged, although summer signing Mike Tullberg and long-term absentee Bruno Aguiar were on the bench on their return to fitness, as they attempted to build on last week's victory over Inverness Caley Thistle. But it was United who continued to be the more dangerous early on and Sean Dillon missed a good chance to break the deadlock. A poor touch from Lee Wallace gave the defender an opportunity from close range, but his attempted lob was too close to Kello, who managed to parry the ball clear. It was Kello to the rescue again when Flood's cross was flicked on via the head of Robertson and the goalkeeper turned the ball over the crossbar. Hearts started to exert some pressure of their own without seriously testing Lukasz Zaluska. His Hearts counterpart was on hand to hold a 20-yard effort from Conway but was beaten from even further out a minute later when a free-kick was laid off to the winger to power the ball into the net from 25 yards. Hearts threatened to level, but Christos Karipidis headed over from six yards following an Audrius Ksanavicius free-kick. United were shooting on sight and it was Gomis' turn to drill in an effort from 25 yards that struck the crossbar. Hearts came out in determined mood after the break, but it was United who extended their lead. Daly was allowed too much space and, although Kello got a hand to the striker's superb strike, it squirmed over the line off the inside of the post. Hearts were still in the game until Robertson headed home from six yards to make sure United collected another three points. The visitors' day took a further dip when midfielder Jonsson was sent off when he picked up a second yellow card after 74 minutes. Saulius Mikoliunas went close to giving the 10 men a consolation with a drive that came off the post. Dundee United manager Craig Levein: "He scored a great goal and was a real thorn in Hearts' side. "But all the lads were absolutely tremendous. "People were having a go at us because we had not started the season as well as I would have liked, so I'm thrilled to bits to get a third clean sheet in a row." Hearts manager Csaba Laszlo: "The second goal killed the spirit and the discipline. The third was unlucky. We tried to head the ball and it came back against the head of the opponent like a billiard ball. "With only 10 men, we controlled the game, but that was not enough." Dundee Utd: Zaluska, Dillon, Wilkie, Dods, Dixon, Flood (Swanson 90), Scott Robertson, Gomis, Conway, Daly, Sandaza (O'Donovan 59). Goals: Conway 39, Daly 50, Scott Robertson 61. Hearts: Kello, Karipidis, Zaliukas, Berra, Lee Wallace, Mikoliunas, Jonsson, Stewart (Palazuelos 68), Ksanavicius (Nade 53), Kingston, Mole (Tullberg 59). Sent Off: Jonsson (74).
