JAMBOS DON'T FACE KUWAIT FOR WINGERS

HEARTS were given a derby lift when wingers Saulius Mikoliunas and Deividas Cesnauskis were allowed to miss Lithuania's friendly against Kuwait tonight.

The duo played for their country in Saturday's 1-0 win over the Faroes but have returned to Scotland to start preparing for Sunday's clash with Hibs at Easter Road.

Tynecastle team-mates Marius Zaliukas and Kestutis Ivaskevicius have remained with the Lithuanian squad.

Hearts assistant boss John McGlynn said: "We've got good relations with the Lithuanian international set-up and reached an agreement with them that Miko and Chesney could come back.

"Getting them helps us prepare and will keep them fresher than if they had gone to Kuwait and played."

McGlynn has refused to rule out a dramatic return on Sunday for striker Edgaras Jankauskas.

The former Porto and Benfica player hasn't featured since the 3-0 away defeat to AEK Athens in the Champions League qualifiers seven weeks ago because of a thigh tear.

Despite the player's failure to turn out in yesterday's reserve outing with Aberdeen, McGlynn insists he could still make his comeback at Easter Road.

McGlynn said: "Edgaras wasn't really in the plans for the reserve game but that doesn't mean he's out of the Hibs game.

"If we felt he was fit enough he would still go in for the derby game."

Michal Pospisil has suffered a blow as he seeks to return after seven weeks out with a dead leg.

The 27-year-old suffered a setback in training and missed the reserves clash.

McGlynn said: "Michal was going to play but he felt a wee niggle and it wasn't worth the risk."
