Mark takes HeartsMARK WHYTE has been rewarded for his years of service to Linlithgow Rose with a testimonial against Hearts. The Tynecastle side will visit Prestonfield on Sunday, November 5, and are expected to field a strong line-up because they have no reserve fixture on the Tuesday. Kick-off is 2pm, tickets are £4 for adults and £2 concessions, and are available from the Rose Social Club. Whyte, who is in his 11th season with the club, said he was delighted the game would go ahead after a proposed tie with Celtic fell through. He added: "For a local lad there's only one place to play if you're not at a senior team, and that's Linlithgow Rose. "I'm pleased they're repaying my loyalty. It's a nice surprise — I wasn't expecting anything like this. "It will be great if Hearts bring a strong side with a couple of first team players. Hopefully, the place will be packed!" The striker is pictured here with this season's strip, which is on sale on Sunday at the Social Club from 1-3pm and also on Tuesday night from 7-9pm. The shirts are £30 for adults and £25 for kids, all sizes available. As well as the testimonial, a race night with cabaret and buffet will be held for Whyte on Saturday, November 25. Tickets are £5, available from the Social Club. http://www.linlithgowtoday.co.uk |
