CELTIC fans were not enamoured by the behaviour of Gordon Strachan at Tynecastle and they were even less impressed by the conduct of their fellow supporters.

Ian Grant, Falkirk, said: "Gordon Strachan's comments and attack on the media following the win against Kilmarnock were puerile and completely over the top. Beating a team who haven't won at Parkhead for 51 years is nothing to crow about.

"He should have kept quiet and waited until after getting a result against a bigger team before saying anything.

"Sadly Celtic didn't come close to beating Hearts and they can have no complaints about a comprehensive defeat."

Paul Quinn, Edinburgh, said: "It was nice to see Strachan setting his players a good example by getting himself sent to the stand. He's just a bitter wee man with a chip on his shoulder."

Peter Hanlon, Scotstoun, Glasgow, said: "The most depressing aspect of Celtic's defeat on Sunday was that Strachan set his team up to get a draw. Even after Petrov scored an equaliser he was still over cautious and brought on Neil Lennon to shore things up.

"Celtic got what they deserved and as for Magic Zurawski he must have the most inappropriate name ever. If he is so magic why doesn't he disappear."

Sonny Campbell, Edinburgh, said: "I've followed Celtic since the 1940s and I know a bad manager when I see one. Strachan is not the man for the job and the sooner him and his cohorts are replaced by Willie McStay, Kenny McDowall and Danny McGrain the better.

"They have done a tremendous job at youth and reserve level and deserve a crack at the big time."

Another disgruntled Celtic fan was John Duffy, Paisley, who said: "I'd like to express my disgust at the same old nonsense spewed out by the Celtic support on Sunday.

"It's pure defiance and I can't believe this is still going on here in Scotland in the 21st century. After Rangers were fined by UEFA you would think Celtic would learn their lesson. Sadly, it appears not."

Gary Harvey, Whiteinch, Glasgow, said: "I keep reading about Rangers and the behaviour of their fans at Fir Park but not a mention of the Celtic fans who sung IRA songs at Tynecastle on Sunday.

"Will the press be demanding the SPL launch an inquiry into the conduct of Celtic fans?"

Cameron MacDonald, Armadale, said: "Rangers fans have taken a lot of stick over the singing of bigoted songs recently but they deserve praise for their behaviour at Ibrox on Saturday when their conduct was impeccable."

Sam McFadden, Belfast, Northern Ireland, said: "I was at the Rangers game on Saturday and I thought the defence was appalling. Alan Hutton has never been the same player since breaking his ankle and Julien Rodriguez is not Rangers class.

"I know Fernando Ricksen is not everybody's cup of tea but surely he would be a better option at right-back than Hutton."

Leaving football behind Tom Dougal, Falkirk, said: "I'd like to congratulate Scotland's Marc Warren after he won the Scandinavian Masters on Sunday. It was an excellent effort and his victory came at a time when Scottish golfers have been performing poorly."

Stewart Calder, Hamilton, said: "Congratulations to Eddelwood Bowling Club in Hamilton after they won the triples at the Scottish Championships in Ayr at the weekend. It's the first time in 100 years Eddelwood have produced national champions."

Real good quote of the day
