CLYDE clattered the Jambos hitkids but team chief Joe Miller revealed he has still to be installed officially as manager.

Second-half goals from Michael McGowan and Chris Higgins sent the SPL side plunging to defeat.

But Miller said of the managerial mess: "It's still not been sorted out.

"But I will continue to keep the momentum going and the progression of the boys until a decision is made by the board."

Miller and former boss Graham Roberts had a bust-up during an end-of-season trip to Canada.

Miller said: "Graham has not been at the club. I am in charge of the team and have been doing the pre-season for four weeks.

"I am more caretaker boss and Graham has not been near the ground since four weeks ago.

"I cannot say any more - everything is out of my control and I cannot talk about the situation.

"All I can talk about is the progression of the boys. It was a good win and a good test for us."

McGowan fired in a low shot from a Craig Bryson pass for the first in 51 minutes and Higgins glanced in a header from Stephen O'Donnell's corner in 68 minutes.

Miller added: "We have 14 signed players and hope to sign a few more before the start of the season.

"But I can't say more about the manager situation although it is the strangest situation I have been involved in."

Hearts assistant manager John McGlynn had three trialists in the team and said: "We gave Tiago Costa a run-out - he is from Benfica.

"We also had a Lithuanian and a 17-year-old Romanian.

"We had a fairly young team and we knew it would be a tight game - but it was a good work-out for us."
