MY BOSS IS TALKING MINCEDUNFERMLINE star Greg Shields has leapt to the defence of the officials -and insisted boss Jim Leishman is talking rubbish. Leishman claims Hearts should never have been awarded the free-kick that led to Michal Pospisil's winner. He reckons Souleymane Bamba didn't foul Saulius Mikoliunas but Shields disagrees with his manager and is adamant Hearts deserved the goal. The defender said: "A lot of the boys were saying that they did not think it was a free-kick that led to Hearts' winning goal. "I don't want to go against the manager but I was right next to it. I felt Bamba did foul Mikoliunas because he took the man out. It was a free-kick." Shields reckons Bamba is their Bobo Balde in that he has a commanding presence but can sometimes be rash. The former Kilmarnock full-back said: "Bamba is a very good player, really solid. He will bring to Dunfermline what Bobo brings to Celtic. "He has a similar style and the fans really like him. "Most people thought we would not put up a show but we did. "We finished 11th in the last two seasons and it is small wonder we are the pundits' favourites to go down. "But Kilmarnock had it last season and they finished fifth so the pundits are not always right. "That performance fills me with great hope for the rest of the campaign." Taken from the Daily Record |
