Cautious Romanov says 'don't expect a 10-0 goalfest'WILL STEWART HEARTS owner Vladimir Romanov last night said he was hoping for a victory tonight in the Champions League - but also continued to dampen expectations this season by saying that his rebuilding of the club is far from complete. "I certainly hope for a win against Siroki Brijeg but I know how much we have still got to do in terms of building the team," he said before flying to Scotland for the European game. "I don't expect the best performance of the year or a 10-0 goalfest. I know the Bosnian team have three Brazilian players and quite a lot of Croatians. They are an active team." Romanov added: "But in terms of our bigger targets this year, I just want to say that we are still in the stages of building the team. We are now only half way through this process." Earlier this week Romanov indicated that the club would rely on their young talent this season, hinting that he won't be dipping into his bank account for major new signings. "Valdas Ivanauskas is in a good mood and working hard with the players," he added. "I always hope for a win but at the moment we can't be 100 per cent satisfied because I know the team is not yet performing at its best. "Despite this, we're in a good frame of mind to start the season." Taken from the Scotsman |
