FOR WHOM BEL TOILSCOUNTDOWN TO THE BIG KICK-OFF By Greig Thomas SIROKI BRIJEG chief Zlatan Mijo fears his side won't get the chance to face Hearts in the Champions League. The Jambos should gain a good idea who their opponents will be after the first-leg clash between Bosnians Siroki and Belarussians Shakhtyor. But Siroko president Mijo reckons their hopes of setting up a clash with Valdas Ivanauskas' men are slim because they don't know anything about Shakhtyor, who they face in Belarus tonight. He said: "We wanted to avoid teams from the former Soviet republics because we had a recent bad experience in Azerbaijan when we lost. "Now we must go east again and we don't know anything about Shakhtyor." But Siroko coach Ivica Barbaric is more confident. He said: "I think that we can go into the second round. That would be terrific because having the opportunity to play against one of the best Scottish clubs would be a great reward." The first leg of Hearts' tie against either Siroko or Shakhtyor will be played on Wednesday, July 26. |
