GOALKEEPER GORDON SCORES IN TARTAN ARMY POLL FOR SCOTLAND'S PLAYER OF THE YEARBARRY ANDERSON The Hearts goalkeeper, 23, who has established himself as his country's No.1, polled 22 per cent of the vote conducted on the supporters club's official website. Dalkeith-born Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher topped the poll with 56 per cent of the votes cast while former Hibs striker Kenny Miller, now with Celtic, was third with 11 per cent. Gordon and three of his Hearts team-mates - Steven Pressley, Andy Webster and Paul Hartley - were also included in the team of the year. An incredible 100 per cent of voters picked Gordon as the country's undisputed No.1 Gary Caldwell, now with Celtic, was also selected for the displays he turned in while still at Easter Road. Edinburgh Tartan Army secretary Craig McKay believes Gordon fared so well in the vote due to the "world class" displays he's turned in while representing his country. "Craig Gordon is by far the most composed, athletic and professional goal keeper Scotland have had for at least a decade," said McKay. "Considering his age it is testimony to him that people are starting to taking his reliability for granted. He has turned in some world-class displays for Scotland." Team of the year: Gordon (Hearts), Webster (Hearts), Weir (Everton), Dailly (West Ham), Caldwell (Celtic), Pressley (Hearts), Fletcher (Man Utd), Hartley (Hearts), Quashie (West Brom), Miller (Celtic), McFadden (Everton).
