CLUBS LINE UP TO NAB WEBSTER FOR £200KBy Mark Guidi HEARTS are prepared to flog Andy Webster for a bargain £200,000 - and that has sparked a queue of clubs all over Europe to line up for the Scotland star. Everton, Fulham, Newcastle, Middlesbrough, Stuttgart, PSV Eindhoven and Monaco have all expressed an interest in the frozen-out defender. Jambos chiefs are raging at losing the player for such a paltry fee after turning down a bid of around £1million from Rangers last season. But there is nothing they can do to stop him going under FIFA rules for a fee based on his earnings over the last three years. Webster has handed in his notice and will leave with one year left on his four-year deal. His relationship with Tynecastle supremo Vladimir Romanov has been fragile over the last six months after the big stopper couldn't agree terms to stay. Webster was bombed out of the team for the last part of the season and is desperate to bring his time at the club to an end as soon as possible. Taken from the Sunday Mail |
