NAYSMITH NO.3 ON CELTIC LISTDavid Mccarthy GARY NAYSMITH has been told Celtic will only come in for him if Gordon Strachan fails to lure his top two left-back targets. The Hoops boss wants Sparta Prague's Michal Kadlec in Glasgow but the deal has stalled over the size of the transfer fee. And further talks will be held with former Manchester United utility man Quinton Fortune, although Celtic are poring over the player's knee scans before committing themselves to someone who didn't play last season because of injury. If both deals fall through, Strachan will reignite interest in Scotland left-back Naysmith. The 27-year-old, signed by Everton from Hearts for a fee of £1.75million six years ago, signed a two-year extension at Goodison recently. But Naysmith, who has won 28 caps, hasn't featured regularly in the last year or so and could be available for £750,000. Taken from the Daily Record |
