Latest Signing Can't Wait To Leave TynecastleStory by Ed_Scotland 2 June 2006 Jamie MacDonald wants to make a name for himself with the Scottish Cup winners but knows he has to gain experience. Hearts have signed up their third choice ‘keeper, Jamie MacDonald, on a new two-year deal which will keep him at the club until the summer of 2008. MacDonald is highly rated by goalkeeping coach Jim Stewart, not to mention interim boss Valdas Ivanauskas and number one Craig Gordon. MacDonald said: "I am very pleased about it. The way the club is and the way they can buy players it is good that they are still giving youth players a chance. I am getting a couple of years and other young players are getting deals. It is good they are getting the youth side to it." Knowing that he still has a lot to learn, MacDonald is hoping to be allowed to leave Tynecastle on loan for a few months to find first-team experience elsewhere. He went on: "It has happened that in the past. Craig went out to Cowdenbeath and came back stronger. Robbie Neilson had a good year at Queen of the South. He has done well ever since. Hopefully that will be the next stepping stone and allow me to get some first-team experience." Taken From http://www.scotland-mad.co.uk |
