Hearts' season ticket numbers expected to swell to 13,500

HEARTS are on course to increase their season-ticket base to 13,500. Over 10,000 of the club's existing 12,500 season book holders have already renewed. The majority of the remainder are expected to sign up again by Friday's 5pm deadline. Together with the extra 1,000 tickets already released and sold, the club expect to have a total season ticket holder list of 13,500. There will be no public sale.

As Hearts plan for the new season, signing target Ahn Jung-hwan is in no rush to commit to his future. The South Korea striker is looking for a move from MSV Duisburg in Germany, and is in Scotland with his national team preparing for the World Cup.

But further developments have been put on hold while Hearts majority shareholder Vladimir Romanov considers whether to give interim coach Valdas Ivanauskas the job permanently.

Romanov, however, is showing little urgency in making that decision, saying: "I want to have a holiday to get away from football for a while. It may well be that I will wait until I return before announcing any decision about the coaches at Hearts for the new season."

Sanders said: "Nothing has changed since I spoke to Ivanauskas last week. They said they would get back to me, but there has been nothing. But I am relaxed about it and so is Ahn. Of course, if Hearts don't move, then I will move because I have to do my job for my player. However, there are no deadlines set, Ahn is not a player who makes deadlines."
