BROOKS GIVES RYAN HAMPDEN SPOT PRIZE

GRETNA owner Brooks Mileson proves again he's spot on - by presenting Ryan McGuffie with a gift to remember.

Record Sport joined forces with Hampden chiefs this week to auction off the penalty spot from which this season's Scottish Cup Final was decided.

Big-hearted Brooks forked out the top bid of £500 - with the proceeds going to the Scottish Football Museum - then promptly handed the spot to midfielder McGuffie.

Brooks said: "Ryan scored with penalties in the semi and final and it was his goal against Hearts that helped make the game so exciting. It's a unique memento and he deserves it."

McGuffie, who will plant the spot in the front garden of his home in Dumfries, said: "My mum, Fiona, is a keen gardener and has already picked out the best place."

David Kells, managing director of Hampden, said: "It's a wonderful gesture from Brooks and everyone at the Scottish Football Museum is delighted."
