PALS GOT ME OFF THE HOOK

DEIVIDAS CESNAUSKIS last night thanked his Hearts team-mates for getting him off the hook after his clumsy tackle handed Gretna a lifeline.

The Lithuanian's second-half foul on John O'Neil led to Ryan McGuffie cracking home an equaliser on the rebound after Craig Gordon saved his spot-kick.

But Jambos bailed Cesnauskis out of bother with a tense shoot-out win and he said: "I am delighted especially after losing the penalty.

"I did touch the player. Maybe he dived a little to make the most of it but it probably was a penalty.

"I was worried I had cost us the cup so am relieved we won."
