BREBNER IS LATEST TARGET FOR GRETNAExclusive CUP FINAL COUNTDOWN: 1 DAYTO GO +CUP FINAL By Euan Mcarthur GRANT BREBNER is a summer target for big-spending Gretna. The Scottish Cup finalists have been alerted to Brebner's availability after he was told he could leave Tannadice as part of Craig Brewster's cull. And the former Manchester United and Hibs star could be handed the chance to kick-start his career in the First Division with the Borders club who can offer him the lure of regular first-team football. The 26-year-old midfielder, who still has a year left on his current contract, is working to try to agree a pay-off with Tannadicce chairman Eddie Thompson. And if a suitable agreement can be reached it could speed up Brebner's hopes of a move to Raydale Park. Gretna boss Rowan Alexander knows Brebner would not come cheaply but the club's owner Brooks Mileson is prepared to offer mega-bucks if it helps to take them all the way to the SPL. Brebner would join former Tannadice men Chris Innes and James Grady at the Second Division champions. Taken from the Daily Record |
