SKACEL SIGNS ON BUT STILL DREAMS OF MOVESPL BIG MATCH SPECIAL David Mccarthy RUDI SKACEL last night admitted he had signed a contract tying himself to Hearts - but insisted one day he'd love to play in the Premiership. The midfielder was made captain for the day as the depleted Jambos wound up their league season with a 2-0 defeat at Ibrox. But with the Cup Final on the horizon, nobody in the Tynecastle camp seemed overly perturbed by the defeat and Skacel wasn't ready to be drawn on whether the Hampden clash with Gretna would be his last in a Hearts jersey. He said: "I have signed an option but it is a very difficult question for me if you ask if I am going to stay. I'd like to go to the Premiership but whether it is this year, next year, five years or one day, who knows?" Hearts coach Valdas Ivanauskas believes some of the players who turned out at Ibrox have given him food for thought ahead of the Hampden showdown. He said: "Some players needed a game and now I have more information." Taken from the Daily Record |
