beaten by a Hungry Hearts

Celtic were beaten by a Hungry Hearts side today after another lack lustre performance from the SPL Champions. A game that Rangers were supporting Celtic and willing them towards victory, But Rangers Champions League challenge has surely withered and died at Tyncastle today. There was a lot of talk about Celtic lying down to Hearts today, but in all fairness that wasn't the case although Rangers fans will point out Stephen Mcmanus's own goal as questionable. They have no reason to Hearts wanted this more Celtic have the league tied up, that was the story of the game.

Hearts repeated what they did at Tyncastle last time Celtic visited and scored 2 goals within 10 minutes. Yes, like last time one of them was an own goal by Celtic, only this time it wasn't Ross Wallace it was Stephen Mcmanus who sent a looping header past his own keeper. Then it was Paul Hartley's quickly taken free kick that caught Boruc by surprise minutes later to make it 2-0 to the Champions League hopefuls.

Celtic never really got going at all with key members of the team not having their best game. Hearts really worked Celtic's two centre backs today and it definitely paid off. Just before half time Hearts had another chance to extend their lead but it was a miscue by the Hearts striker.

Half time whistle all Hearts would the second half be any better for Celtic?

Second half kick off, Celtic seemed a little more energetic with Magic Zurawski winning the ball in the Hearts half and running towards goal, he pulled off a great shot but Craig Gordon made sure it didn't go in. The game was then finally put to rest when Bednar ran through on goal and put it past an on rushing Boruc, replays would suggest he was offside. 3-0 and game over.

Rangers fans will feel aggrieved at this result more than anybody, Celtic fans were still in good voice as the match drew to a close. Who can blame them they are celebrating a title singing "We are only here for the party" during the game. Unless Hearts throw this lead away then they will have a crack at the Champions League next season.
