Glidden seeks final inviteDARREN JOHNSTONE FORMER Hearts captain Freddie Glidden is desperate to see the current side commemorate the 50th anniversary of his team's Scottish Cup triumph with a win at Hampden next month. But, as the 1956 side prepare to celebrate their success against Celtic with a reception at Tynecastle tonight, Glidden is still waiting to receive an official invitation to Hampden from the club. Glidden remembers lifting the coveted trophy and he is now desperate to make the same journey half a century later to see the current side face Gretna on 13 May. "I would like to go back to Hampden and to the final next month, but as yet I've not had an invitation through the post," he said. |
