Cottagers eye SkacelSunday Apr 16 2006 16:16 Fulham manager Chris Coleman is reportedly considering making a move for Hearts' unsettled midfielder Rudi Skacel. The Czech Republic international is currently on a season-long loan from Marseille at Tynecastle, where he has netted 16 times in 31 SPL outings. The Jambos are keen to keep hold of the 26-year-old beyond the end of his loan deal, but he is rumoured to be unhappy about the perceived lack of stability at the club. That has alerted Coleman, who is determined to add to his squad over the summer in a bid to secure a top 10 finish in the Premiership next term. "We're looking to invest in the summer so that means we can't keep everybody and we want to add quality," said Coleman, after seeing his side end any lingering fears of relegation with a 2-1 win against Charlton on Saturday. "I know there is a perception that we should already be in the top 10 but we've got no divine right to it. "You look at teams around us and above us with massive wage bills having spent good money on players, and on our day we can beat any of them. "We've beaten all of the top sides except Arsenal but we have also lost to the bottom clubs. "To compete as a top 10 club we need to make the right investment and we need to be consistent, I know that and so do my players. "All the signs are there from the chairman and the board that we want to invest in the summer to add more strength in depth to the squad and that's very exciting for all of us." |
