ELVIS A ROCK IN CRISISBy Mark Guidi CRAIG GORDON praised skipper Steven Pressley for making sure the Hearts players kept their cool amid the turmoil of four different managers this season. Jambos have been in crisis off the park but Gordon reckons Elvis didn't let the negative publicity unsettle the dressing-room. He said: "Players can't control everything going on at a club. Our priority is to make sure we win as many games as we can. "We've won quite a few this season and can attribute most of the success to Elvis. He's a good leader and a good person. "He has shouldered most of the responsibility to take the pressure off the rest of us." Gordon also hopes Andy Webster follows his lead by signing a deal, although that seems unlikely. The keeper said: "I hope he stays. He's a fine footballer. "But just because it was right for me to sign a new contract doesn't mean it is right for everyone else." |
