BAIRNS IN RAGE AT RUDI

By Gordon Waddell

FUMING Falkirk star Jack Ross last night told gloating Jambo Rudi Skacel to learn how to win with dignity after an amazing bust-up.

The Czech international infuriated Bairns with his diving during Hearts' 2-1 win and taunted them the tunnel at the end. And Skacel sparked evenmore anger when he came BACK out to wind the Bairns players up again while they were warming down.

Ross reckons he needs to learn lessons in class - and how to stay on his feet - from some of his team-mates.

After a week of turmoil the Jambos scraped the three points they needed to keep Rangers at bay in the chase for second spot thanks to Edgaras Jankauskas' 81st-minute winner.

But Ross said: "I didn't see what happened in the tunnel straight after the game because I was in the dressing-room early.

"But I know Rudi had a couple of things to say to me when I was warming down.

"I'm a great believer that once the whistle goes and you're back across the white line everything should be forgotten.

"You can be a completely different character on the park than off it.

"But to keep it going in that way says a lot about Skacel as a person.

"He had a wee niggle when he came back out but could learn from a guy like Takis Fyssas who's a proper professional and behaves correctly.

"I'm not going to whine too much because we had enough of that in the papers during the week and it's not my style.

"Things happen on the park.

But off the field, forget it - that's how it should be.

"Some people can win with dignity. You come up against players at Rangers, Celtic and Hearts who can do it the right way. He couldn't."

Ross's anger at Skacel wasn't confined to the afters though.

Three times in the first half the midfielder went down with minimal contact, sparking fury in the stands.

And Ross grinned: "He's a well built lad isn't he? I've seen pictures of him with his top off and he's a strong guy so I asked why he couldn't seem to stay up.

"I don't think he understood.

It's a different culture and style of football - but maybe the longer he spends in Scotland he might change."

Meanwhile, Hearts skipper Steven Pressley is a doubt for the weekend's crunch Scottish Cup semi-final with Hibs after a serious first-half head knock.

Elvis needed three stitches and didn't emerge after the break due to possible concussion.

Boss Valdas Ivanauskas said: "He's a big player and we will see how he is next week."

Andy Webster, who missed yesterday's game with a stomach bug, should be fit as should Robbie Neilson who picked up an ankle knock against the Bairns.
