Fans fears for Murrayfield appealSome fans have called on their club to appeal after the Scottish FA this week rejected Hearts' request to move the tie against Edinburgh rivals Hibernian. "I like to hope something could be done, but it is more hope now than expectation, said Watson. "I think the Hibs supporters are on board, but not to the extent we are." John Borthwick of the Federation of Hearts Supporters Clubs had called for the club to appeal against the SFA's decision to play the 2 April game at Hampden Park. But, with Hibernian supporters groups reporting only a "65-35" split in favour of using Murrayfield, hopes of supporters' pressure seems doomed to failure. Hearts fans will discuss the situation with their Hibs counterparts. Watson said: "We have been speaking to Hibs fans' groups on very friendly terms and the majority of elected office bearers were in favour of playing at Murrayfield. "But they will not come out and commit their members to that without asking them, which is fair enough. "Finding the time - in enough time - to do that is where the difficulty lies. "It is very difficult for Hibs fans' groups to say they support the move for Murrayfield at 65-35 in favour. "But Hearts groups have around 95% backing from their members for the game to be at Murrayfield, which makes it easy for us to say the tie should be played there." Taken from the BBC |
