Phil puts his Stamp on Scott's Jambo yearsFAN OF THE WEEK THIS week's Fan of the Week is Scott Lees, a 21-year-old Biology student from Bonnyrigg. Scott studies at Edinburgh University but always finds the time to follow the Hearts on a Saturday. First game: My first Hearts game was a match against Hibs at Easter Road at the start of the cup-winning 1997/1998 season. It turned out to be a great first game to go to because Hearts won 1-0 that day. Neil McCann scored the only goal of the game in the first half. A win against Hibs - a pretty good start to my days as a Jambo going to games! Most memorable moment: For me, it has to be Phil Stamp's last-minute winner against Hibs at Easter Road. Stamp was sent off for celebrating the goal. We'd beaten them 5-1 the time before but we were a goal down with about five minutes to go and we were fearing the worst. Kevin McKenna got an equaliser for us and then Stampy popped up with the winner. Favourite all-time player: I'm going to go for Neil McCann. Neil was always a great player for us before he left and it was always great to see him going down the wing. I was very surprised when he came back to Tynecastle earlier this season but I was happy to see him back as well. I hope he does as well in his second spell for the club. Favourite all-time manager: For me, it is George Burley. It's a pity that George's reign at Tynecastle was so short. I wish he was still at Tynecastle and I'm sure that we would be much closer to Celtic at the top of the SPL if he was still in charge. Greatest lengths gone to see Hearts: It was probably the match at Ibrox this season just before Christmas. I hadn't managed to get a ticket and I didn't think I'd make it but my mate produced a spare ticket for the Rangers end so I took it. It was a nightmare having to sit on my hands for 90 minutes and we lost the game 1-0 as well. I really had to watch what I was saying and doing. Funniest Hearts related moment: It actually goes back to my first game. I hadn't even got into the stadium at Easter Road when my uncle spotted Craig Brown outside. Brown was the Scotland manager at the time and my uncle went over to him and started giving him pelters for not including Neil McCann in the Scotland squad. I couldn't believe that happened at my very first Hearts game. Taken from the Scotsman |
