JOHNSON: I'LL TAKE HART TO INSPIRE MY CAREERHEARTS new boy Lee Johnson has vowed to emulate Paul Hartley's success at Tynecastle. The former Yeovil midfielder who qualifies to play for Scotland through his Glaswegian mum aims to prove you don't have to be a big name to be a hit. Hartley and fellow Scotland star Andy Webster joined Hearts from St Johnstone and Arbroath and are now first-choice internationals and wanted by a host of big clubs. Johnson knows he's taking a big step up but believes Hartley is a shining example of what can be achieved. The 24-year-old said: "I've come here with a fairly modest reputation but I'm confident I can emulate guys like Andy and Paul in particular. He's someone I'll look up to and hopefully follow the career path he's taken. "I respect everyone here as excellent players but I'll be out to prove I'm good enough and reputations won't mean anything. "It's a daunting prospect. At the press conference I was put in front of 40-odd people which I'm not used to. But that's every player's dream and I'm enjoying it. "Facing 40 journalists is far more scary than playing in front of 16,000 fans at Tynecastle. Taken from the Sunday Mail |
