NO SEASON OF GOODWILL FOR ROMANOVHearts majority shareholder Vladimir Romanov has delivered a scathing 'alternative' Christmas message to Tynecastle supporters. In his programme notes for the Bank of Scotland Premier League visit of Falkirk, the Lithuanian has revealed his contempt for "agents, journalists, jealous hangers-on or other 'wunderkind"'. Romanov said: "Dear supporters, even the most sacred places on this earth, the places that house the remains of Christ, are blighted by profiteers and money-grabbers. "Likewise, in the football world, which is sacred for those who love football, there are also those - be they agents, journalists, jealous hangers-on or other 'wunderkind' - who seek to ruin all that is good about the game. "But it is the devil that is driving them forward, and they are not going to stop. "All that will remain for me is to step aside and bid them farewell on their road to hell." The Jambos were leading the SPL table before former boss George Burley left the club in October after a reported row with Romanov. After trying to bring Burley back to the club, Romanov appointed Graham Rix as new first-team coach. But the Tynecastle club have slipped behind SPL leaders Celtic in recent weeks. |
