Hearts bid to thrash out Pressley deal

HEARTS captain Steven Pressley was today due to sit down with chief executive Phil Anderton in a bid to thrash out a deal that will keep him at the club.

The Scotland internationalist is technically a free agent after failing to agree to certain clauses that are now inserted into all SPL deals.

He has been named as a trialist for each of the Jambos' last two matches to allow him to play but should the matter not be resolved by the time the Capital club travel to Kilmarnock for the SPL opener in under two weeks he would be forced to sit out.

The 31-year-old had put pen-to-paper on a new two year deal in March that was supposed to kick-in on July 1 but new SPL regulations introduced since then mean that deal is now void.
