Hearts hit five past BrayHEARTS continued their Irish tour with an impressive 5-1 win over Bray Wanderers at the Carlisle Grounds last night. George Burley made six changes to the side that drew 0-0 with St Patrick's on Sunday, and Hearts took the lead after 15 minutes through Deividas Cesnauskis. Stephen Simmons made it 2-0 on 26 minutes from a 20-yard free kick after a foul on Hjalmar Thorarinsson. It wasn't until 68 minutes that Hearts substitute goalkeeper Jamie Keogh was called on to make a save. The third goal came a couple of minutes later when Bray goalkeeper Patrick Hannigan saved from Paul Hartley but Calum Elliot was on hand to score from the rebound. Marius Kizys and Saul Mikoliunas got Hearts' fourth and fifth goals, before Bray got a late consolation. Meanwhile, Graham Weir will miss the start of the league season due to a broken shin sustained in Sunday's St Patrick's game. Taken from the Scotsman |
