Hughes and his Bairns all set 'to have a go' at HeartsMARK BONTHRONE FALKIRK boss John Hughes today insisted that his side would travel to Tynecastle determined to have a go and not just to make up the numbers. Hearts are firm favourites to book their place in the quarter-finals of the CIS League Cup but will be wary of their First Division opponents who thumped them 4-0 in the Tennent’s Scottish Cup back in January. And while former Hibee Hughes insists that tonight’s game will be a far harder encounter for his side, he is adamant that nobody in the Falkirk ranks will have an inferiority complex. "I don’t think that this game will be anything like the last meeting at Brockville but we will definitely be going there to have a go and see what happens," said Hughes. "We were rampant last time but that was in our own back yard and this time it is on their ground. "We have a lot of experience in the side though and the atmosphere which is sure to be created could even turn us on to a good game. "If we can apply ourselves and get our tactics just right then we may just have a sniff. "It will be hard, but we are looking forward to it." The Bairns have been boosted by the news that former Hibs playmaker Russel Latapy has recovered from a hamstring problem although they are still missing Jason Lee and Kevin Christie. |
