Walsall snap up Pointon.Neil Pointon last night joined Walsall after being handed a free transfer by Hearts. Pointon was also being tracked by Wigan but opted to return to England with Second Division Walsall after talks with their general manager Paul Taylor. The 33-year-old had been a first team regular until last season when he lost his place to youngster Gary Naysmith. Former Everton, Manchester City and Oldham star Pointon made more than 50 league apperances for Hearts and is a former club skipper.  Taken from the Daily Record |
