Police warn Ibrox stars over Sash.

Rangers players and bosses were warned by police yesterday after singing sectarian songs at Celtic Park.

Ibrox stars celebrated their Coca-Cola Cup win by belting out Orange anthem The Sash in their dressing room.

Insiders said vice-chairman Donald Findlay QC and other top brass were there.

One source said: "The noise was amazing. It seemed worse because it was at Parkhead.

"You can't blame them for celebrating, but they didn't need to do it that way."

Police confirmed their commander at the game asked Rangers to cool it after their 4-3 triumph over Hearts.

He'd noticed TV crews outside the dressing room, and didn't want the Protestant songs broadcast to the nation.

A police spokesman said: "The commander asked the team to quieten down to allow after-match TV interviews to take place."

He didn't know if anyone had complained about the singing, and played down fears it could have sparked crowd trouble.
