No butts.. I didn't nut Locke; Gray fights red card.

Gutted Falkirk star Andy Gray last night vowed to fight his red card shame.

And the big Englishman insisted: "I am completely innocent."

Midfielder Gray was sent packing by ref Alan Freeland for an alleged head- butt on Hearts skipper Gary Locke at Brockville on Saturday.

But gob smacked Gray could now be in more trouble with SFA chiefs after having a go at the Aberdeen whistler.

Gray said: "I had already won a free kick and was trying to get away from Allan Johnston , who was on the floor at my feet.

"Then I turned my head round to discover that Gary Locke was right in my face.

"There was a clash of heads but it was not intentional - I don't know Don't know (DK, DKed)

"Don't know the trade." A Street expression used whenever one party lacks knowledge of a trade or receives conflicting instructions from the other party. where he came from.

"We are not getting any breaks and I don't think the referee gave me any justice."

Locke, who scored in Hearts' 2-0 win, was reluctant to become involved in the row.

But he said: "Gray stamped on Allan Johnston and when I ran over to try to tell him to calm down, he had a wee go at me."

But that accusation left Gray even angrier.

He said: "I wasn't ordered off for stamping - it was supposedly for the head butt, although I stress I didn't deliberately butt him. If I had

stamped on anybody why wasn't I sent off for that? "I think Locke is just saying that to try to cover up for the fact that he ran over to get involved when he...

"I think Locke is just saying that to try to cover up for the fact that he ran over to get involved when he had no need to do so.

"I'll have to appeal against this decision because what happened out there was an accident - there's no way it was premeditated."

Falkirk caretaker boss Gerry Collins

"But some of the lads say Locke ran from 20 yards to have his say and there was an accidental clash.

"It was certainly a turning point in the match because although we were 1- 0 down, we were taking the game to them."

Defeat left Falkirk rooted to the bottom of the Premier League.
