What Happened | It was Hearts first game as Cup Holders and my
first game watching Hearts abroad. The feeling going to the game was so
good, I'm going to watch Hearts and we're the holders of the Scottish Cup.
Colin Goldie had flown across from Edinburgh with the Hearts team. On the
Sunday we walked from the centre of Dublin to the ground and got there
about 12.00 ish. There was no one about, the ground was all locked up and
we're thinking do we have the right place, the right day?
After visiting the local pub to sample a few Guinness it was back to the ground for 3. The lack of crowd (250) was made up for by the fact that you could buy a beer in the social club. Not sure that I saw any of the second half but it was magic to know that I was watching the 'Cup Holders'. |
Other Comments | The Tour De France started from Dublin on the Saturday so the town was full of French. On the Sunday night France won the World Cup so the atmosphere around the city was hopping not quite as good as the night back in May but the monkey was off the back! |
