Why nominated | I don't think us Hearts fans really appreciated what a tremendous player Eammon was as a teenager. I believe from his personal point he moved to Chelsea 2 seasons to early(he wasn't ready for them) But, Hearts were skint and were not going to turn down 225,000(correct me if that is the wrong fee) of anyone's money. Apart from Robbo I don't think there has been a better taker of a free-kick at the club since I first went in 1965. |
Memorable Games | Against Morton League-cup 77/78 Hearts won 3-0 with
Eammon scoring a peach of a free kick. We all agree Eamonn Bannon is magic is magic is magic. I can hear the shed singing it now. Arbroath: Scoring the winner with his heid in the 18th minute of a 1-0 win that ensured we got promoted back to the Premier league as runners up to Dundee. Gayfield park as probably never seen scenes like it before or since. It was the first time I had ever drank Champagne, it's the only time that it's tasted ok as well. Still great day. |
Other Comments | I am only sorry the club didn't get him back before
Dundee Utd. Look what he did with them. I think the club has learned a lot this when Eammon was one of the talented teenagers in Scottish football. I now look forward to us producing more in the future with our new academy set up. I forecast bright times ahead with youngsters nurtured and dedicated to us. Money just can't be everything. Can it? |
