WHAT'S THE SCORE - JOSE TAUGHT ME ALL I BRUNO

By Gavin Berry

BRUNO AGUIAR spent just two months under Jose Mourinho - but it was long enough to help shape his career.

Hearts' new Portuguese midfielder worked with one of world football's most famous coaches at Benfica.

A dispute meant Mourinho's time at the Stadium of Light lasted just nine games.

But during his short stint at the club in 2000 the Chelsea boss spotted enough talent in Aguiar to put him on a long-term deal.

The Jambos new boy said: "I was playing for the reserves but Mourinho took me to the first team and renewed my contract. It was a pity he left two months later but I'll never forget what he did for me.

"I learned a lot from Jose. Attention to detail was the biggest thing about his management style. Small details can make a big difference."

Aguiar still has friends at Benfica and was gutted when best mate Nuno Assis failed a drugs test.

Assis has now been suspended after a positive test for no rand roster one but Aguiar said: "He is innocent."

Jose Goncalves followed Aguiar to Tynecastle last month and the full back hopes to land a place in Portugal's World Cup squad by turning on the style in Edinburgh.

The former FC Thun ace said: "I'd love to be part of the World Cup squad and playing at a high level could increase my chances.

"Nobody would have given Thun a chance of reaching the Champions League but they did. That experience can only help me."

Hearts' title push suffered a blow last week when they dropped points in a 1-1 draw at Tannadice - just hours after shock claims that owner Vladimir Romanov was picking the side.

And Dundee United star Derek McInnes last night rubbed salt into the wounds by accusing Jambos skipper Steven Pressley of cheating.

Pressley won a controversial penalty for the leveller then was involved in the incident that saw Tannadice winger Barry Robson see red.

McInnes said: "Pressley stayed down until he saw the red - then got up with a spring in his step. The penalty incident was similar and he should be better than that."

FORMER Hearts striker Stephane Adam is hoping to secure a coaching post in the SPL. Adam, who scored in the 1998 Scottish Cup Final, said: "I have a lot to offer and have worked under former France boss Aime Jacquet."
