Player Nominated

Rab Prentice

Alex MacDonald

Edinburgh

Why nominated

The best winger I have ever seen.
Dazzling skills.
If the amount of TV coverage we have now had been available in the 70's,
Prentice would have been a superstar.
He deserved more.

Memorable Games

Scotland Under 23 match v. Denmark at Tynecastle in 1976.
He had come on as a sub in a side that included Jordan, Dalglish etc. and scored an amazing goal I'll never forget.
He beat 4 defenders,
some of them twice,
before shooting home from the edge of the six-yard box at the Gorgie Road end.
A similar goal at Fester Road but he only beat 3 defenders this time.
It was one of the few highlights as the club were relegated for the first time.
Being part of the team that beat Lokomotiv Leipzig.
Another truly amazing run and goal in a 6-2 rout of Dumbarton in the League Cup in 1975.
