Why nominated

I am surprised Donald has not been nominated already.

At a time when the Hearts were bad very bad along with Jim Cruickshank and Rab Prentice, Donald was a shining beacon of class.

This proven when he was in the final 22 of the Scotland squad for Germany 74 (the strongest Scotland world cup squad ever IMHO).

Memorable Games

Hearts against Hibs 8/9/73 Hearts 4 Hibs 1, this was the first game after the you know what one and Donald scored in the second half.

First game of 74(centenary year) Donald scored both in 2-0 win over Motherwell.

Bursting the net(literally) against above mentioned well with an absolute thunderbolt in the Texaco or Anglo Scottish cup at Fir park.

Scoring against Rangers at Ibrox in 3-0 win 72/73.

The guy scored goals for fun. He wasn't as good as Robbo at finishing but, as a bairn he was one of my heroes and just oozed class.

Other Comments

Thank you for all the memories Donald.
